Pack the Pickup Food Drive
Volunteers work for two days at four area grocery stores collecting food items for the Coalition’s Food Pantry. Crossroads Ford donates pickup trucks and Lowe’s Foods Pinehurst & Southern Pines, WalMart and Food Lion Pinecrest Plaza participate. Collected items help provide food to over 1,000 people during the summer months. Many families struggling when children are not able to receive breakfast and lunch at school.
Shoes for Students
Each fall the Coalition conducts our Shoes for Students program. Students at Moore County elementary schools are identified by teachers and school social workers. Referred students visit Shoe Carnival in Aberdeen to be fitted for new athletic shoes. This year the Coalition provided new shoes to 139 Moore County students! A big thank you to our funders, Shoe Carnival, and all the volunteers and school employees who helped make this program possible!
Coalition Golf Classic
The Coalition Golf Classic is held at Pinewild Country Club each July. The golf classic is the Coalition’s largest fundraising event each year and proceeds help the Coalition alleviate hunger and financial strains of struggling families in Moore County.
Community Garden
The Coalition’s Community Garden brings neighbors together to grow fresh produce for our Food Pantry. Volunteers build beds, plant, and harvest; every crop goes directly to families in need across Moore County. View the gallery to see the progress and the impact your help can make.
